Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VirtaApps Studio Oy ("VirtaApps", "we", "us") handles personal data across our website and our iOS applications. We are a software studio based in Helsinki, Finland, operating under European Union and Finnish data-protection law. We build privacy-first software. Our starting point is simple: collect as little as possible, keep data on your device where we can, and never sell it. This policy describes what that means in practice.

We keep data collection to a minimum and only collect what a specific feature genuinely needs: • Contact messages — if you email us or use a contact form, we receive what you choose to send (such as your name, email address, and message). • Information you enter into an app — content you create stays on your device unless a feature you turn on (for example iCloud sync) syncs it through your own Apple account. We do not require you to create a VirtaApps account to use our apps.

We do not collect or maintain advertising identifiers, behavioural tracking profiles, contact lists, or location histories. We do not build profiles about you, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to anyone. Where an app processes information entirely on your device — such as photos, location used to stamp a photo, or on-device calculations — that information is not transmitted to us and we never receive a copy of it.

At present, this website does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioural cookies. We do not run Google Analytics or similar services. If we ever introduce privacy-preserving, aggregate analytics, we will update this policy first and describe exactly what is measured. We will never add tracking that identifies you individually.

When you contact us, we use the details you provide solely to read and respond to your message. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and any reasonable follow-up. We will not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send unsolicited email.

Our apps are distributed through the Apple App Store. Any purchases, subscriptions, or in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We do not see or store your payment-card details. Apple may share limited, aggregate sales information with us; this does not identify you personally.

Data created in our apps is stored on your device by default. Where you enable Apple iCloud, that data is stored and synced through your own iCloud account, secured by Apple. Any limited data we do hold (such as an email you sent us) is protected with reasonable technical and organisational measures and retained only as long as necessary.

We rely on Apple services such as App Store, iCloud, HealthKit, and other Apple platform services you choose to enable, which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy and operate under your control. We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs or data brokers in our apps. We will not add a new third-party processor without updating this policy.

Our products are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for processing. You also have the right to request a copy of the personal data VirtaApps holds about you. Because most of our processing happens on your device, you can exercise many of these rights directly by editing or deleting data in the app, or by removing the app. For any data we hold, email privacy@virtaapps.com and we will respond within the timeframes required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Finland, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman).

We may update this Privacy Policy as our products evolve or the law changes. We will revise the date below and, for material changes, make the update clear on this page. Continued use of our website or apps after an update means you accept the revised policy. Where required by law, we will seek additional consent before material changes take effect.
